In 2017, the true crime series “The Keepers” premiered on Netflix, and it didn’t take long for its success to make headlines around the world.
The series revolves around 26-year-old nun Kathy Cesnik, who disappeared without a trace after a shopping trip in November 1969. Two months later, she was found dead as a result of extreme violence.

When Cesnik was murdered, she was working as a teacher at Archbishop Keough Girls’ High School, a Roman Catholic school in Baltimore, USA.
Linked to the murder of a nun
That same month, 20-year-old Joyce Malecki disappeared. The 20-year-old never returned home after she went Christmas shopping at a mall near Baltimore.
In the documentary The Keepers, questions are raised about whether Cesnik was murdered by the school’s Catholic priest, after the 26-year-old revealed he had sexually abused students.

We also meet two special people who have dedicated their lives to searching for the truth: What really happened to Kathy Cesnik and Joyce Malecki?
The aforementioned Catholic priest was exhumed in the same year as the documentary, but according to Sky News They did not get any DNA results, and the case remains unsolved.
But now there is hope for Joyce Malki’s survivors, the news site wrote. Earlier this year, police announced that they had apparently solved a murder case dating back to 1970, the year after Maleki’s murder.
DNA match
Pamela Conyers, 16, was reported missing from the same shopping center where Malki lived. They both died of suffocation.
Using new DNA technology, as well as genealogy, Forrest Clyde Williams III was identified as the alleged perpetrator.

Police stated in a press conference on March 10 this year that he died of natural causes in 2018 and was 70 years old.
Police now believe the man may also have been behind the murder of Joyce Malki, which occurred the previous year.
– It appears investigators will now obtain DNA from Maliki’s remains, Curt Wolfgang, executive director of the Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center, tells Sky News.

Furthermore, he says Joyce Malki’s survivors will be present when the coffin is lifted from the ground. Otherwise, the area will be closed to the public.
– Even though it’s been 54 years, knowing what happened back then would certainly help the family, says Wolfgang.
A spokesman for Malki’s family confirmed to Sky News that the coffin will likely be lifted on Thursday.
