Belgium confirmed its lead in Group 6 of the qualifiers for the European Championship 2024 by defeating Azerbaijan 5-0 in Brussels.

The first four goals for the “Red Devils” were scored in the first half and there was already a “devil” on the loose. Romelu Lukaku scored a goal in the poker (17m, 26m, 30m, 37m) and emerged as the top scorer in the qualifying stage.

The Roma striker scored 14 goals, while Cristiano Ronaldo remained in second place with 10 goals. Kylian Mbappe, with nine goals, ranks third.

Through Lukaku’s poker, Eddy Israfilov received two yellow cards and was sent off, leaving the Azerbaijani side outnumbered.

In the second half, Belgium scored another goal, scored by Leandro Trossard in the 90th minute.

Also on Sunday, in the other Group F match, Sweden, which has no chance of reaching the European Championship, beat Estonia 2-0.

Athletic striker Victor Geukeris was inclusive, but left empty. Viktor Claesson scored the goal of the match in the 22nd minute and assisted the second goal for Emil Forsberg in the 55th minute.

Once the group was closed, Belgium finished first with 20 points, followed by Austria with 19 points, both confirming their presence in Germany 2024. Sweden came in third place (10 points), ahead of Azerbaijan (seven) and Estonia (one).
