– Some of you haven’t learned anything in the last 80 years. Some of you have forgotten why this body was created, said Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, in a speech before the UN Security Council on Monday.

He criticized the Security Council for its silence regarding the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.

The 15-member Security Council, bitterly divided, failed to adopt a single resolution related to the three-week war between Hamas and Israel.

– Therefore, I would like to remind you of the following: From today, every time you look at me, you will remember the meaning of silence in the face of evil, said the ambassador.

“Just as my ancestors did, and the ancestors of millions of Jews, my team and I will from now on wear the yellow Jewish stars,” he said, before standing up and attaching the star to the chest of his suit. On the star is the phrase “Never Again,” a reference to the yellow Jewish stars that the Nazis forced Jews to wear in Germany.

– We will wear this star until you wake up and condemn the atrocities of Hamas, Erdan said.
