All five are Bulgarian citizens: Orlen Rusev (45 years old), Bezer Gambazov (41 years old), Ekaterina Ivanova (31 years old), Ivan Stoyanov (31 years old), and Vania Gabirova (29 years old). They are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

They are accused of collecting information that might be useful to the enemy – between August 2020 and February 2023. The Metropolitan Police is the one who investigated the case.

The defendants are said to have worked in an operational spy cell of the Russian intelligence service. They are accused of participating in a conspiracy whose aim was to collect information and transfer it to the Russian state.

He writes that it was Rousseff who supposedly served as a liaison to Russian intelligence BBC.

FAX: Three of the five had already been charged in February this year - at that time for possessing false identity documents. Here is a fax from The Times.

In a raid on the residences of three of the accused, namely Rusev, Dzambazov and Ivanova, police found false passports and identity papers from a number of countries, such as Great Britain, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia and Greece. Also called the Czech Republic.

Among other things, the five are said to have worked under the guise of being journalists, British media reported.
