Voltage. Spanish women refuse to play for the national team after being called up

aContrary to the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s position on a “safe environment”, the group that makes up the Spanish women’s national team reacted on Monday to the recent call-up of Montse Tomé – the successor to the sacked Jorge. Velda – after they confirmed that they will not play until changes are made to the structure of the body that supervises Spanish football.

Players reacted in a statement.

The footballers’ group also guarantees that it will study the “possible legal consequences” imposed by the Spanish Federation.
