And last Friday, during an extraordinary general meeting, Rubiales refused to resign and confirmed that he would defend himself.
And in the last few hours, The Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office also announced the opening of a preliminary investigation into the alleged sexual assault, following complaints against Luis Rubiales.
The organization explained in a statement that the reported facts may constitute a crime of sexual assault, and stressed the “significant public repercussions in the media at the national and international levels” that this case entails.
