Americans put a Tesla engine in a rare Porsche 911

Sacrilege Motors built the Blackbird, an American roadster with 500 hp “electric”.

Americans from Sacrilege Motors took a Porsche 911 America Roadster to create the Blackbird. This new version of the 964-generation sports car, launched in 1992 and originally limited to 250 units, has the peculiarity of swapping out the classic 250-hp air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine for a 500-hp Tesla Model S electric motor. and 500 Nm, backed by a 62 kWh battery, allowing for a maximum range of about 320 km. If the original model advertised 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, the electric shift manages to accomplish the same task in less than 4 seconds.

Sacrilege also made some modifications to the chassis, opting to include competition Penske springs with two levels of adjustment in the front and three in the rear axle. There are also larger Brembo brakes and a self-locking differential.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Lakeville (Connecticut), Sacrilege was born to restore 911s built between 1974 and 1994. This first edition, the Blackbird, will be on display at Pebble Beach.
