Tourists have been told not to swim at one of Bali’s most popular but also most dangerous beaches, Kelingkeng Beach.
The reason for the warning is that a British tourist dislocated his leg after being hit on the beach by a wave on Wednesday 12 July.
This was reported by the area’s rescue company, Pasarnas Bali, on Facebook.

The rescue company says the man was rescued from high waves about an hour later, and was subsequently taken to the island’s emergency room.
Swimming ban
Located in Bunga Mekar Village on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida, Kelingking Beach attracts hundreds of tourists daily due to its stunning scenery.
But many injuries and deaths due to strong currents and high waves on the island’s popular beaches have now prompted local authorities to warn tourists not to swim on the beaches.
Earlier this year, swimming was banned at Kelingking Beach, as well as Diamond Beach and Angel Billabong Beach, all located in Nusa Penida.
Killer beach
But many tourists choose to ignore the ban, and swim on the weather-prone island anyway.
Despite the view, Kelingkeng Beach is one of the most dangerous beaches in Bali, according to the local newspaper The sun of Bali.
At the end of June this year, two tourists died in a drowning accident on the beach, according to the newspaper.
