The ceremony took place at a luxury estate near the Arad River and gathered 50 family members and friends.

About 50 people attended, including family members and very close friends of the couple. All guests had to present the invitation at the door to enter the luxurious property, which is located on the left bank of the Arad River.
The exclusive party continued throughout the afternoon and evening in an area of the property where there is a pool and where a tent has been pitched.
The engagement comes seven years after the former ruler became a widower after the death of Margarida Souza Uva, a victim of cancer, whom he married in 1980 and had three children.
Dating lasted six years
The couple has been dating for six years. Joanna is a children’s book illustrator and they met through Guilherme Barroso, the ex-politician’s eldest son.
