Swedish coach Magnus Andersson, Whose departure from FC Porto was officially announced on WednesdayHe resorted to the social networking site Instagram to leave the club’s first public farewell message, from which he takes “love, joy and successes”, to ensure that he will remain in Porto in the near future at least.

“Thank you for all these wonderful years, to all the FC Porto players and fans. I will always take a lot of love, joy and successes with me. What a time we had together. Now I will rest a bit and hope to recharge my batteries. I will stay in Porto and I hope to see you there, ”reads the message of the 57-year-old coach, who coached FC Porto for five seasons, from 2018/19 to 2022/23.

Magnus Andersson led FC Porto to four national titles, two Portuguese Cups and one Portuguese Super Cup.

On the European scene, in 2018/19, he led the team to the Final Four of the UEFA Cup, in which FC Porto finished in third place, after losing in the semi-finals against Fuchs Berlin and winning in a dispute the podium of Holstebro. In the next three seasons, FC Porto qualified for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, a competition in which the Dragons reached the group stage in 2022/23.

It was still during Magnus Andersson’s tenure at FC Porto that the blue and white put in a row many players who were champions in the national team, which achieved historic results at the World Cups, Europe and the trip to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Magnus had a contract until 2024, but he left a year earlier in connection with the end of the contract. Carlos Resende returned to FC Porto, the first club he coached and left in 2009.
