The 42-year-old died in a tragic climbing accident in Wyoming, USA last weekend.
Pliska was the captain of the Czech Ski Classics team. He was one of the best long-distance runners in the Czech Republic and was, among other things, a top 20 runner in Marcialonga, he wrote. Cross country skiing Whoever mentioned it first.
The Czech finished 21st in the Birkebeineret last year. Pliska finished just over three minutes behind winner Andreas Nygaard.

It is said that the accident occurred in the Wind River Mountain Range, at an altitude of 3,700 meters. An avid climber, Pliska was named the Czech Republic’s Climber of the Year in 2013.
– He was one of the best Czech runners. We haven’t had a lot of connections, but we’ve done many of the same ski runs in recent years. He was the enthusiastic type who was always in a good mood. My thoughts go out to the family and his loved ones, Nygaard tells Dagbladet.
