After Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin shocked the Kremlin and the world with a march to Moscow on June 24—and then stopped short of the Russian capital—he signed a deal to settle in Belarus.
Last week it became known that a war criminal had landed in Minsk.
Now, however, the St. Petersburg newspaper is writing Fontanka That Prigozhin made a trip to his native regions to collect some of his possessions: weapons.
wild search
In the dramatic hours as Wagner’s team marched toward Moscow, Prigozhin’s St. Petersburg office was searched by Russian authorities. In addition to large amounts of dollarsSeveral fake passports, gold, pistols and “white powder” were also found.
According to Fontanka, Prigozhin—formerly known as “Putin’s chef”—should now have been allowed to collect some of these weapons.
In 2018, Avisa was nominated for the Fritt Ords Free Media Awards by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and has written extensively about the participation of Russian special military groups in various military operations in eastern Ukraine and Syria.
Among the weapons recovered by Prigozhin is an Austrian Glock pistol – which he received as a gift from Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The latter was an avowed target of Prigozhin’s wrath—and allegations of incompetence and lack of ammunition delivery—when the Wagner group mutinied.

According to Fontanka, Prigozhin’s “return home” was supposed to take place on Tuesday 4 July.
Avisa wrote that a BMW – followed by a Land Cruiser with security personnel should have arrived at the offices of the FSB security service in the Russian city of millions.
Prigozhin is then said to have exited the BMW and entered the FSB offices.
Fontanka claims that “Putin’s former chef” should have brought two Saiga rifles, an Austrian Steyr Mannlicher, a semi-automatic rifle and several other shotguns and pistols.
The allegations at Fontanka have not been confirmed by the official Russian side — nor Prigozhin’s Telegram channel.
The latest official report on Prigozhin’s whereabouts is that he is in Belarus.
