a Streaming platform HBO Max announced on Tuesday that it will increase its The monthly subscription price is from €5.99 to €7.99. In a message it sent to subscribers, the company indicated that The new price will take effect in a month’s time, on July 13. However, the raise (and the way it was advertised) raises doubts among subscribers with the 33% for life promotion.
“We are increasing our monthly price in light of the rising costs of acquisitions, content creation, and product development so that we can continue to invest in the high-quality content and products we seek to offer our customers.”the platform said in an email sent to subscribers.
After the platform was announced, many users took to the social network Twitter to express their displeasure, especially those who signed up for the 33% lifetime promotion. That is, they are currently paying €3.99 instead of the normal price of €5.99.
In the email, HBO Max didn’t distinguish between users with that subscription, telling everyone that “your first payment at this new price” will be available from your next bill date.
On Twitter, the platform justified that “the email clearly mentions the increase in the standard price of the monthly subscription, which has gone up from €5.99 to €7.99. However, subscribers of the lifetime promotion will continue to enjoy a 33% discount on the monthly price as long as they keep with their monthly subscription.
In this sense, as explained to another user, The discount will be applied to the new monthly subscription price (7.99 €) and subscribers will pay a new reduced price (5.32 €).
Lifetime subscribers will continue to enjoy 33% off the monthly price as long as they maintain their monthly subscription. The discount will be applied to the new monthly subscription price (€7.99) and subscribers will pay a new reduced price (€5.32)
