Olympian agent confirmed Torey Boy died in childbirth | the people

American Tori Bowie, who won three medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, confirmed that she was in labor when she passed away, according to a report from Orange County, California. Quoted by the magazine the people. According to the official autopsy, Bowie had a “developed fetus,” and his death was due to “natural causes.”

It also secured Olympic champion Kimberly Holland’s agent Remarks to CBS News, that Bowie died of complications during childbirth. “Unfortunately, many people, including the media, have speculated that she did something to herself, which is very hurtful,” Holland said.

The news of the Olympic athlete’s death was released on May 3 after her management company posted a statement on social media. “We are so saddened to share the sad news that Torey Boy has passed away,” Icon Management wrote on Twitter.

At the time, authorities said they found Bowie dead at home, after being called in because nothing was known “from a woman in her 30s (…) for several days,” adding that no evidence of the crime had been found.

The situation has led many to point to the possibility that Bowie may have committed suicide. Singer Paul Askew, for example, suggested that the athlete might have psychological problems: “Rest in peace, Tori Boy.” This talented young woman was reportedly banned from American track and field and we never saw her again. She was an Olympic and world gold medalist. Depression is real. Please talk to your friends. “Depression is real,” he commented on social media.

Torey Boy was born on August 27, 1990, in Sand Hill, Mississippi, after she was first raised by her grandmother and then given to a foster family. His dreams ran across basketball, but he had a crush on athletics.

At Rio 2016, Tory Boy won silver in the 100m, bronze in the 200m and gold in the 4 x 100m relay. The following year, in London, she became world champion in the hectometer test and in the 4 x 100-meter relay.

In his honor, the state of Mississippi established November 25 as Torrey Bowie Day.
