noIn the wake of the “almost catastrophic persecution” that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle claimed they were targeted on Tuesday, May 16, in New York, the photo agency Backgrid USA, for which the paparazzi worked, gave its opinion on the matter.
“At Backgrid USA Inc., we value journalistic transparency and ethics, which includes providing a fair and factual response to allegations. Referring in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.
“We want to make it clear that we received photos and videos of what happened last night from our freelance photographers, three of whom were traveling in cars and the other on a bicycle. According to the agency, the photographers aim to cover a “dinner” that is scheduled to take place after the ceremony. It is also said that the paparazzi “did not intend to cause distress or harm, as their only tool is cameras.”
The agency also denied the statements of the couple’s representative, who alleged that the Dukes of Sussex had been stalked by “very aggressive paparazzi”.
