The Wagner Group played a decisive role in the war, especially in the eastern regions of Ukraine. In the eight-month battle of Bakhmut, he pushed mercenaries to break the Ukrainian defense lines.
After several months of fighting, the industrial city of Bakhmut was almost completely destroyed. Today, the city remains the scene of some of the fiercest fighting between Russia and Ukraine. The city is located in the Donbass region, in the east of the country.
If the Wagner Group does not get more ammunition, according to the group’s commander, Yevgeny Prigozhin, it will withdraw from the war-torn industrial city.

– Shall we continue to fight or not?
In an interview with pro-Russian blogger Semyon Pegov, Yevgeny Prigozhin says that the Wagner Group no longer receives ammunition from Russia. He made the commander see red, and now he has given an ultimatum to the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, he writes CNN.
– I appeal to Sergei Shoigu, says Prigozhin, before asking for more ammunition.
– If you refuse this, I will inform you that we will have to withdraw from Bakhmut due to lack of ammunition. Do we continue to fight or not? Should we stay or should we go? Head continued Wagner.
Ukraine: Controls a vital supply route
On Sunday, April 30, the Ukrainian military said the country still controlled an important supply route to Bakhmut.
– For several weeks now, the Russians have been talking about taking control of the “Way of Life”, as well as taking control of it permanently. It’s very difficult there, they keep trying, but the defense forces didn’t allow the Russians to cut off our logistics, says Serhiy Sherevaty, a spokesman for the eastern Ukrainian forces, according to NTB.
The Road of Life is a road between Bakhmut and the neighboring town of Tajasif Jar in the west. There are approximately 17 kilometers between the two cities.
He asked Putin to end the war
Not long after, Prigozhin called on Vladimir Putin to declare an end to the war against Ukraine with immediate effect.
After 14 months of war, the leader of the Wagner-Gruppen thought the job was done.
– We have killed a large number of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and we can report that our mission has been completed. In theory, Russia has already achieved this point by destroying a large portion of Ukraine’s active male population, as Prigozhin previously stated.
