The discoveries were made in Lake Mead, Nevada, at the end of July and beginning of August in the summer of 2022.
Now the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has stated that they have successfully identified the remains that were found using DNA analyses. He writes CNN.
The remains belong to 52-year-old Claude Russell Bensinger of Las Vegas. He disappeared in 1998, according to a press release.

Three different hikers in the area have found skeletal remains that all belong to Pensinger. However, the cause of death is not clear.
Dagbladet wrote about the findings last summer. Then the water in the water tank was at its lowest level since it was built in the 1930s.
Over the past year, many dead people have been discovered in the lake. In May at the latest, investigators were able to confirm the identity of the remains discovered in October.
Donald b. Smith is 39 years old from North Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the police, the man may have died in a drowning accident in April 1974.
Smith was the sixth discovery of human remains in the artificial lake in 2022.
