About 100 employees and dependents of the Adames Animal Nutrition Industry, in Campo Grande, began receiving flu shots on Monday (04/17). This action marks the beginning of Sisi’s annual immunization campaign with the industrial sector of Mato Grosso do Sul.

Nurses from Sesi were present at the company’s headquarters to administer doses of the quadrivalent vaccine, which protects against H1N1, H3N2 and two strains of type B influenza virus. The main focus of the campaign is on workers in industry and their families, but the general public will also be able to commit to being immunized. In all, 32,000 doses of the vaccine have been purchased this year.

Fiems system director and owner of the company, Walter Garjeon Adams, praised the five-year partnership between the industry and Sesi, which is bringing benefits to employees through vaccination.

“Our attendance has improved a lot. Significantly reduced absenteeism due to the flu. I participate every year. After I started getting vaccinated, I never had the flu again. Before that, I went through this suffering every year,” he said.

According to the company’s director, Pedro Adamis, the vast majority of workers joined the vaccination campaign. “We have noticed that employee participation is increasing every year. This indicates that everyone is aware of the importance of vaccination to prevent the diseases we face, especially in the post-coronavirus scenario,” he said.

Nurse Sesi Patricia Dellevati Ferreira explained that the vaccine doses are updated annually. “It is important for us to be vaccinated every year because the strains in the dose are the strains that affected the most in the past year, causing severe influenza and hospitalization of patients,” he said.

She appreciated the company’s initiative to immunize employees. “I came from Rio Grande do Sul, where I had already been vaccinated. I thought the company’s initiative to bring in the vaccination during working hours was really great. Thus, all employees have access to this service,” he said.
