Samsung revealed in its virtual Unpacked device, unveiled four new models of its laptops, the Galaxy Book, which features Intel Core processors of the eleventh generation, including two models with AMOLED screens and also with dedicated graphics.
The new ones Samsung Galaxy Book ProAvailable on 13- and 15-inch models, it is lightweight, making it easier to carry. After all, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro weighs something less than 900 grams with a thickness of 11.2 mm, while the 15-inch model measures 1.05 kg.
Models are equipped with AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 FHD that includes HDR500 and 120% of the DCI-P3 color space. Designed to banish designers, Galaxy Book Pro lets you change screens to reproduce sRGB and RGB colors.
The new 11th-generation Intel Core processors are clearly the hub of their capabilities, which can hit the Core i7, with between 8 and 32 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. The graphics on the board are well accepted Iris Xe, but if you want to sacrifice some portability, you can choose the GeForce MX450.
Due to its thinness, the Galaxy Book Pro has keys limited in performance by 1mm and may not suit everyone’s taste. The thickness doesn’t stop Galaxy Books from including a reasonable number of ports, including 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB-C, 1 x Thunderbolt 4, and even USB-A 3.2, but the 13-inch model swaps HDMI for microSD and gains optional LTE connectivity.
Either way, the batteries are charged via the USB-C port, as the Galaxy Book Pro 13 includes a 63-watt-hour battery and the Galaxy Book Pro holds a 65-watt-hour battery.
For those who plan to spend more time drawing on the screen and writing notes, Samsung has also launched the new convertible Galaxy Book Pro 360 It comes with more powerful and wide S Pen for safer and more comfortable use. Unfortunately, the S Pen’s low and extra thickness means it isn’t entitled to an internal dock.
The Galaxy Book Pro 360 comes with the same 13.3 ″ and 15.6 FHD screens as the Book Pro, with the same specifications, but with the addition of clear touch sensitivity. They also have shared batteries, but the MX450 option is disappearing.
Other important details include MIL-STD-810G certification and audio with Dolby Atmos and AKG loudspeakers. Surprisingly, for 2021 equipment, Samsung has retained the camera in HD, which is somewhat limited to laptops of this type in the era of video conferencing.
Transfer to Samsung Galaxy Book OdysseyThis is a laptop more hybrid between performance for CEOs and gamers. With 1.85kg, it’s no secret that it wants to be an effortless laptop, which is why it includes an 83Wh battery and a 135W charger.
In addition to the latest Intel processors, we will be able to choose the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Max-Q or the 3050 Max-Q, which will be quite easy on the tough games. The screen is TFT LCD FHD, and does not refer to Samsung’s big accessories.
A very important point is that we can add memory and storage after purchase, while the physical connection is very broad, including MicroSD card reader, microphone / headphone, RJ45 jack, 3 x USB 3.2 and 2 x USB-C.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Book It’s the more user-friendly model, as it abandons luxuries like AMOLED screens. It arrives before with the same 11th generation Intel Core processors, and we can over-equip it for the MX450. Scalability remains at the center of its specifications with the possibility of adding a second RAM and SSD module.
There’s no option for LTE connectivity, but we still had good connectivity, including a microSD reader, voice / microphone combo, 2 x USB 3.2 and 2 x USB-C.
Samsung has not left a chance to equip its laptops with some exclusive software features, such as Intelligent Performance Manager, a mechanism that adjusts laptop performance according to the task at hand, for example increasing performance during games, or an intelligent color engine that adjusts color reproduction accordingly. Applicable. Finally, they will be able to control SmartThings at home directly from the Galaxy Book.
The new Samsung Galaxy Book will only be available in select markets where Portugal is not included. In Germany, the Galaxy Book is the cheapest starting at 680 €, the Galaxy Book Pro 13.3 € starts at 1,100 €, and the 360 version starts something higher than € 1,200.
