In order to reduce the risk of exposure of the population to respiratory diseases, the state government, through the National Immunization Program for Acre (PNI), will launch, on Monday, the 27th, an additional dose measure: the influenza vaccination campaign.
The campaign targets the general population, from 6 months of age onwards, and the campaign will run through March until stocks of the vaccine become available. The goal is to reduce complications, hospitalizations, and deaths from infection with the influenza virus. The goal is to immunize 90% of the target audience.
“In the scenario of saturation of health services, due to the increase in the number of cases of respiratory syndromes, vaccination against influenza is especially important to protect vulnerable people from the risk of contracting severe forms of the disease,” explained the committee coordinator. PNI, Renata Coyles.
The vaccines will be available in all Primary Care Reference Units (Uraps) in the state and will be administered in a single dose (DU). Municipal health departments will also develop community-targeted procedures, such as scheduling vaccination activities in many other institutions, for example.
Conditions for taking the vaccine:
- Age over 6 months
- if you took your last flu shot at least 6 months ago;
- Carry your SUS card and identity document.
