Joe Biden – More classified documents have been found

NEW YORK (DAGBLADETT): Representatives of the US Department of Justice have found more classified documents in US President Joe Biden’s home, reports say. Washington Post.

It’s supposed to be about six “things,” but it’s unclear if they’re all documents. They were found after Biden gave Justice Department officials permission to search his home from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Before, the documents were found in two rounds in Biden’s garage and in an office he ran in Washington, D.C. after he resigned as vice president and before he became president.

many decades

The information on the additional documents comes after Justice Department representatives conducted a comprehensive review of Biden’s home in Wilmington. The president’s personal attorney, Bob Sawyer, says some of the documents must come from the Biden era as a senator.

Biden was a senator from Delaware until he became Barack Obama’s vice president in 2009.

Biden gave Justice Department representatives full access to his home — including personal handwritten notes, documents and folders from his 50 years as a politician. After Friday’s review, the Justice Department seized six “materials” consisting of classified documents and associated materials, according to Sawyer.

Earlier, Biden’s lawyers made it clear that they found other classified documents in Biden’s garage, and also handed them over to the Department of Justice.

Already in November, some of Biden’s staff also came across classified documents in an office he was running in Washington, D.C., after he stepped down as vice president.

– The president has been keen from the beginning to deal with this responsibly because he takes the matter very seriously. Neither the president nor the first lady were present when the home was searched, Sauber says in a statement Saturday night.

Comparison

Republicans are trying to draw parallels between the case of the Biden document and the case of former President Donald Trump’s handling of such documents.

The former president is under investigation for his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021. The FBI found classified documents during a raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida in August.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed private investigators to investigate the current and former president. Although there are similarities between the cases, there are also significant differences.

The FBI seized hundreds of documents from Trump. It is much more than what has been shown so far with Biden.

Trump also refused to turn over the documents despite being subpoenaed, and it went so far that the FBI chose to search his home, Mar-a-Lago, to make a seizure. Biden says he handed over the documents as soon as he learned of them.
