Uberlândia recorded 77 probable cases of dengue in the first 17 days of the year, which is an average of four suspected cases per day. Information contained in the State Department of Health’s Epidemiological Bulletin (SES-MG), issued on Tuesday (17).

According to the bulletin, the city still has no confirmed deaths from the disease. There are also no records of possible cases of Zika virus and chikungunya.

Regarding other cities in the Triangulo Mineiro, SES-MG reports that Uberaba has already recorded 82 probable cases of dengue and one of chikungunya. Araguri appears in the bulletin with 17 suspected cases of dengue and eight cases of chikungunya. Patos de Minas already has 62 suspected dengue patients.

As of Monday (17), the entire state of Minas Gerais has registered 2,932 probable cases of dengue. Of this total, 583 cases of the disease have been confirmed. There are no confirmed dengue deaths in the state, but one death is under investigation.

With regard to chikungunya fever, 1377 probable cases of the disease have been recorded, of which 26 have been confirmed. To date, there is no confirmed death from chikungunya in Minas Gerais.

As for the Zika virus, in 2023, no probable or confirmed cases of the disease have been recorded. There are no deaths from Zika in Minas Gerais yet.
