Connecting the SmartThings ecosystem across Samsung products promotes a more convenient life for users. For this reason, Christmas is an ideal opportunity to gift or buy connected items, whether mobile devices such as smartphones from the Galaxy line, headphones from the Buds line, such as the new Buds2 Pro, through the line of Smart TVs and Soundbars, to home appliances, such as Lava and Dry, smart refrigerators, windless air conditioners and robotic vacuum cleaners, allowing you to activate many features², such as on/off and remote programming functions, among others.
Intuitive and easy to use – with just your smartphone or smartwatch in hand – the SmartThings app provides a comprehensive communication experience that adapts to the user’s lifestyle. The possibilities are varied in terms of interconnectivity, going beyond Samsung products and services, and covering smart devices from other brands*. Thus, devices and devices with artificial intelligence (Internet of Things) technology are interconnected to create a more convenient space in a personalized experience, according to the desires and routines of the user and his family.
How often, throughout the day, do we ask ourselves if we turn off the TV or the air conditioner before leaving the house, if the laundry cycle is over or even what items are missing from our fridge to create a new recipe? Connected Living simplifies routines, allowing consumers to focus Less about the daily routines and more about the moments that really matter,” explains Arthur Wong, Marketing Director, Samsung Latin America.
Connect and save with SmartThings Energy
Among the novelties announced in 2022 for the SmartThings ecosystem, Samsung has made available to Brazilian users the Energy function, which, 100% free of charge, allows users to explore ways to save on electricity use with a detailed view of consumption. For different devices, whether in real or kilowatt-hours, in addition to giving the user the ability to create alerts and view comparisons to understand how much consumption the connected device has at the end of the month.
Using integrated AI resources, the function asks for a residence’s zip code to estimate the price per kWh to be charged to the consumer according to their location, automatically updated month by month with data such as local energy distributor tariff, tax and ANEEL tariff notification, if applicable. In addition to allowing consumers to schedule energy usage notifications when away from home, if the device is left on, users can receive daily usage notifications and set a monthly consumption goal, with notifications if it is exceeded. The app also offers saving tips that aid in informed use, and displays a detailed report of average hourly consumption over a given period.
Other connected life features with SmartThings
Recently, Samsung reinvented the SmartThings ecosystem and its connected services and partnerships, including the Everywhere Hub, to extend its capabilities throughout the smart home with audio and video data, as well as SmartThings Pet³ and SmartThings Cooking. Samsung has also partnered with Philips Hue to integrate Philips Hue Sync directly into Galaxy devices so your smart home lighting can match your music. This collaboration will help users and devices be more connected in the future.
The seamless experience extends beyond the Samsung ecosystem through SmartThings integration with the Matter standard and Samsung’s membership in the Home Connectivity Alliance. In this regard, Google and Samsung are working together to enable users to find and connect their devices across all platforms, and to create features optimized for standard Matter devices. Collaboration will bring more devices and users to the connected home in the future.
For voice assistant services, Bixby4 is more deeply integrated with SmartThings, a tool for developers to build smarter voice user interface experiences. As Samsung’s leading voice assistant platform, Bixby has evolved into an on-device AI solution capable of controlling individual Galaxy devices as well as a cross-device experience across the entire Samsung ecosystem. With the new Bixby Home Studio, developers can now build distinct, customized experiences for the SmartThings platform.
Finally, Samsung’s new TVs connect to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro wireless headset, so you get clear, high-quality sound straight into your ears. Buds2 Pro also support Auto Switch1 technology, which seamlessly switches the device you’re listening to. For example: when watching a movie on your new Neo QLED TV with Buds2 Pro, when you get a call on your smartphone, just touch one of the headphones to switch audio from the TV to the device, and answer the call with a swipe.
