to me today’s work None of the accused pleaded guilty.

In the wake of hotel bankruptcy

In November last year, Okocream was suspected of criminal cases exposed during the bankruptcy proceedings of the hotel group Maribel AS. The group went bankrupt in the summer of 2020.

Maribel AS has operated more than 50 First and Moxy hotels in Norway, according to NTB.

The investigation into the case has now ended. According to the indictment, the infidelity dates back to 2011.

Our conclusion is that dummy agreements were used here, which hid large parts of the illegal withdrawals, says Thorsen at Okocream.

According to Thorsen, the bankruptcy estate will demand the refund of money that was wrongly taken from the company.

Parts of this claim will become part of the criminal case.

The accused former deputy mayor

One of the accused is conservative politician Alf Olvin. In February last year He was arrested and charged with gross financial adultery.

My client has not received a penny from what he is now charged with, and this confirms the prosecution’s decision by Okocream, Olvin’s attorney Thomas Frobberg says in a press release.

– From the beginning we were open and collaborated with Okokrim and of course we are disappointed with the decision, says Frøberg.

– Grand

The state’s first attorney general, Bård Thorsen, says the crime of bankruptcy is a social problem that affects creditors, while at the same time eroding business confidence.

– It is especially dangerous if you wrongly drain the financial resources of a company in a weak financial position.
