The actress passed away five days before her 97th birthday.

Actress Angela Lansbury, best known for her role in crime, Shea Said, has passed away. The family said in a statement that the British actress “died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles.” Angela Lansbury died five days before her 97th birthday.

At the age of 19, Angela Brigid Lansbury co-starred in her first film, Half-Light, a thriller directed by George Cukor, in 1944, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. A year later, she was nominated again in the same category for her role in Albert Lewin’s The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Since then, Lansbury has been growing his career through the diversity that has long been recognized for him, and adapting to different roles. She was later nominated for an Academy Award in the same category with The Manchurian Candidate. by John Frankenheimer in 1962.

Despite his success in cinema, on Broadway he reached the peak of his career. He started in 1957 with the play Hotel Paradiso, and later appeared as a hero in The taste of honey, in the musical can anyone whistle. In 1966, he received a Tony Award for his role in the musical Mammy.
