On Thursday, August 25, at 9 pm, in the Città della Scienza of the University of Catania, the third date of the film festival “Ciak… Si Scienza!” will take place. With the screening of “Dark Matter” by Shi-Cheng Chen.
The film is about a brilliant young Chinese student, Liu Xing, with a passion for cosmology, who arrives at the prestigious State Valley University thanks to the help of Professor Joanna Silver, a professor and patron of the university who is drawn to Chinese culture.
The meeting (free admission, reservations required through Eventbrite) will be moderated by Sebastiano Albergo, Professor of Experimental Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Catania in Ettore Majorana.
After the “sale” recorded with the projections of “Agorà” and “The Imitation Game”, the initiative, organized by the University of Catania City of Science and the Sicilian Center for Nuclear Physics and the Structure of Matter, resumes with the third meeting.
The calendar, which has been planned by Professor Alicia Tricomi, delegate of the Third Expedition and City of Science at the University of Catania, includes three more dates: September 1 “Chain Interaction” by Andrew Davis (moderated by Professor Antonio Terrassi), September 8 “La Partella di Dio – Particle Fever” by Mark Levinson (moderated by Professor Alicia Tricomi) and on 15 September “A Beautiful Mind” by Ron Howard.
