Russia claims to have destroyed large amounts of equipment from European countries and the United States – NRK Urix – Foreign news and documentaries

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, “large amounts of military equipment from the United States and European countries” were destroyed near a train station in Bogodukhov, northwest of Kharkiv. He writes CNN.

The Russians also claimed to have attacked an ammunition depot at Bakhmut, a military base in the east.

Neither NRK nor CNN was able to verify the allegations from the Russian side.

No one from Ukraine said anything about the alleged attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry also says its air defense has shot down 13 Ukrainian drones, as well as three Tochka-U missiles, which were said to have been cut down in the Izyum region.

Putin’s yacht allegedly seized

Italy’s Ecocrime announced on Friday that it had acquired a Russian luxury yacht for 6.6 billion crowns.

The yacht, named Scheherazade, has been moored in Marina di Carrara, Italy since March, while it was under investigation.

The yacht should have been ready to sail when it was captured by the Italian police.

The New York Times writes US officials said they had indications that the yacht was owned by Putin.

Activists linked to imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny have also claimed that Putin is the owner of the 459-foot yacht.

Italian authorities announced that the investigation revealed “the existence of significant economic and commercial relations” between the ship’s owner and “prominent elements of the Russian government,” NTB writes.

Built in 2020, the mega yacht features a cinema, helipad, beauty salon and spa.

Ukraine and several Western officials have warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin may use the country Liberation Day, May 9to declare war on Ukraine or escalate hostilities.

So the mayor of the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, is urging the city’s residents to stay home from Sunday to Monday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the people of the country to follow the curfew regulations wherever they are introduced.

The port city of Odessa has announced a curfew in the city and its surroundings from 10pm on Sunday until 5am on Tuesday. It coincides with the celebration of Russia on May 9.

CNN: The Russians have begun excavating Mariupol

Russia has begun large-scale excavations of a bombed-out theater building in the Russian-controlled Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, according to CNN.

The theater building in Mariupol was bombed on March 16. Ukrainian authorities believe that at least 300 civilians who had sought refuge there were killed in the attack.

Several satellite images, taken by the US private company Maxar Technologies from April 29 to May 6, showed increased activity in the theater, according to a review. CNN made.

CNN has asked the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian government and the United Nations for comment. The Red Cross states that they have no people in the city and that they are not part of any excavation team.

On Friday, US President Joe Biden announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It is said to be artillery munitions, radars and other equipment worth about $150 million, according to a US official.

Biden also urged the US Congress to adopt a proposal to fund a $33 billion aid package for Ukraine, according to Reuters.
