Fuel prices have risen for the 14th time this year… The cost of filling the deposit will reach 3 euros next week

Bad news is coming for Portuguese drivers. Fuel prices will rise again next week: “The development of quotations in euros indicates an increase in prices of 2.5 cents per liter for gasoline and 3.5 cents per liter for diesel,” a source from one of the major national oil companies told Multinews.

By the same token, prices of gas stations next to supermarkets follow the trend of the market. “The trend this week will be for an increase of 0.0162 euros in gasoline and an increase of 0.0353 euros in diesel,” another source said.

DGEG shows that since the beginning of the year, fuel prices have increased 13 times and decreased only three times. During this period, the price of diesel increased by 38 cents a liter while the price of gasoline increased by 29 cents. This means that filling a 60-liter tank with diesel costs 23 euros more than it did sixteen weeks ago. To fill up the gas tank, it costs 18 euros more than in the first week of January.

Next week, taking into account the values declared by the oil companies, the bill for certification of a 60-liter tank of gasoline and diesel rises by another 1.5 and 3 euros, respectively.

Data from the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG) show that the average price of a simple diesel liter in Portugal is currently 1.888 euros a liter, while the price of a simple gasoline 95 is 1.959 euros. The latest fuel bulletin from the European Commission indicates that Portugal has the seventh most expensive gasoline 95 out of 27 EU countries, 12 cents above the European average and 36 cents more expensive than Spain. Diesel occupies eighth place in the European ranking.
