500 Ukrainians will be taken hostage

According to Donetsk governor Pavlo Kirilenko, Russian troops pushed about 400 people from neighboring buildings to the hospital. He wrote on Telegram that around 100 doctors and patients are also believed to be in the hospital.

According to Kirilenko, the troops use them inside the hospital as human shields, not letting anyone go outside.

It is impossible to leave the hospital. He says they shoot a lot.

The hospital’s main building was badly damaged in artillery attacks, but health workers still have to treat patients in makeshift beds in the basement, according to Kirilenko.

He asks the world to respond to the “gross transgressions of the rules and customs of war, these horrific crimes against humanity.”

The Ukrainian defense said Russia was trying to isolate the city from the outskirts of both the west and east. The General Staff wrote on Facebook that it was a “heavy loss.”

Ukraine responded

Ukrainian authorities said that Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian attack on the city of Kharkiv on Tuesday evening.

Russian forces were said to have attempted to storm the city from a suburb a mile and a half to the north, says Governor Oleh Senibogov.

He wrote in Telegram that the Ukrainian forces were able to “push the enemy beyond its previous position”. He calls it “a shameful defeat.”

There is no information on losses on any of the pages. After dark on Tuesday night, Russian forces continued their artillery bombardment of the city, Ukraine’s second largest.

The city, located near the border with Russia, is besieged by Russian forces and has been under constant attacks since the start of the invasion of Ukraine.

Senibogov said on Tuesday morning that Russian forces had fired more than 60 missiles at the city center the night before.

The United States with additional military aid

President Joe Biden is expected to announce on Wednesday that the United States will provide $800 million in military aid to war-torn Ukraine. This corresponds to more than 7 trillion NOK.

A US official told CNN about the military aid.

With that amount, the United States this week supported Ukraine with $1 trillion last week, and overall, the Biden administration is up to $2 trillion to support the country since the start of the war.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the new package will contain anti-tank missiles. However, the United States will move away from a no-fly zone over Ukraine, and combat aircraft will not be included in the package, which has been demanded by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

We will stand up to Putin

About ten of the 600 Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine appeared at press conferences carrying messages against the Russian war. Here are some quotes from the prisoners:

– I want to ask our commander-in-chief to stop terrorist acts in Ukraine, because when we return we will stand up to him.

– Putin ordered crimes. Not only is Ukraine demilitarized or the Ukrainian armed forces defeated, but cities inhabited by peaceful civilians are now being destroyed.

The crimes we committed: we will all be condemned.

The public can performers of prisoners according to CNN to be called into question under the Geneva Convention, which prohibits the unnecessary humiliation of prisoners of war. Prisoners may feel pressure to support the views of the Ukrainian authorities.
