D.The quarter-finalists for the Darts World Cup have been determined. James Wade, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright advanced to the last eight round 24 hours after Kervin Price and Michael Smith had already reached the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
“Snakebit” beat Ryan Searle surprisingly 4-1, and he didn’t really challenge himself before the quarterfinals against young Coln Wright at this World Championship.
“Ryan is an incredible player. He’s going to be the top five, but it’s not in his evening, “Wright said, and I’m not comfortable with my throw either.” He averaged at least 98.61. The double allocation was reduced to only 37.1 per cent in the last sentence. Wright replaced his sixth match dart.
Searle, meanwhile, only set a high point with 151 check-outs at 1: 2. For Wright, the hunt for his second world title on January 1 will be tough. Callen Wright was in excellent form with a 4-1 win over Alan Sauer of Scotland.

Anderson replaces the glass
Even though Gary Anderson did not reach his highest level, it was enough to win despite some big mistakes against Rob Cross. For Anderson it was already the ninth World Cup quarter-final in his career. “I’m a little old,” Scott said after the win, which he could have done right before. “I missed a lot of doubles,” the 51-year-old complained, adding that he was already leading 3-1 sets.
Cross was unable to build his strong game from previous rounds, averaging 93.36 points. The double ratio of 44.4 per cent was correct, but scoring with only four 180s was ultimately too weak.

The fact that he caught himself again after the Englishman equalized the sentences is strong from Anderson. Especially in determining the sixth sentence because he miscalculated or acknowledged the erroneous hit image – he was out for 129 points. He had already replaced the glasses during the match.
In the decisive round he was also able to deliver his first three match darts in the Twenty20s as the Cross prevented him from missing 19 runs.

James Wade advanced to the quarterfinals very easily. “Machine” beat Martijn Kleirmaker of the Netherlands 4-0 and commented on his Corona-related bag in the third round after his walk: “It’s nice not to play against Vincent van der Ward. Wade now faces Mervyn King. Like the Humphries and Rydz, the 55-year-old had already won the 16th round in the afternoon. With his 4: 3 goal against Raymond Smith, King won the ticket to German Max Hop in the decisive set. Failing that, “Maximizer” would have dropped out of the top 64 in the world rankings and lost the right to play on the professional tour seven years later.
