Bottled gas prices have never been as high as they are today, rising about 30 cents from January to December of this year, according to “Expresso.”
According to the same publication, which cites data from the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), these values have been at their highest since 2018 and affect two-thirds of Portuguese families. In the case of butane gas, the price is now set at €2.243 per kilogram, while propane gas costs an average of €2.663.
These prices show increments of about 30 cents. In early 2021, the newspaper said, the price of a kilo of butane gas was 1,930 euros (down 31.3 cents a kilo compared to December), with the reference price rising by 29.6 cents.
With regard to propane gas, the price per kilogram has increased by 34.3 cents since the beginning of the year, and the reference price at the international level has increased by about 20 cents.
The current level of oil prices is reflected in the final price of bottled gas. (…) The economic accessibility of a commodity is increasingly at stake, which is really worrying, Pedro Silva, an energy market specialist at Deco Proteste, tells “Expresso”.
