The number of reported infections and deaths from Covid-19 is on the rise in Europe, according to an overview by the news agency France Press agency.
In the past week alone, just over 1.6 million new cases were recorded in Europe, or 239,000 new cases per day, which is an 18 per cent increase from the previous week.
That’s an increase of up to 60 percent from August and September, when there were about 150,000 new daily cases in Europe.
42 countries in Europe saw an increase in the number of infections in the past week. Overall, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland were the hardest hit by new cases.
Europe now has 55 percent of all new recorded cases of infection worldwide, according to AFP.

The number of deaths is on the rise
The number of coronavirus-related deaths is also on the rise in Europe. In recent days, an average of 3,120 daily deaths have been recorded. This is an increase of 16 percent over the previous week.
This is the first time since May that the number of deaths due to the Corona virus in Europe exceeds 3000. annually.
Russia, Ukraine and Romania recorded the highest number of deaths on the continent.

100 in Norway Hospitals
In Norway, the number of infections is also rising. On Monday, 1,149 new positive cases were recorded in Norway. However, on Tuesday, the number dropped to 388 positive cases, according to Statistics From the National Institute of Public Health.
