Actor Ludwig Haas is dead. He died in Newmenster at the age of 88. He is best known for his role as “Dr. Dresler” in the film “Lindenstrass”.
On the street, people call him Dr. Dresler – not surprisingly, because Ludwig Haas portrayed the doctor in the oldest soap “Lindenstrass” in Germany for 34 years. He was already in the first episode in 1985. There the doctor mastered a difficult life – the father of a widow, an alcoholic and a drug addict. Haas once said he was never bored in this role. This area was actually only planned for one or two years. But Haas simply “forgot”, he said in an interview with the press “Satyutsche Jeetung” “Hans Geisnderberg, the inventor and leader of the Lindenstrass, once acknowledged it.” In 2019, his character serial died.

But Haas can look back on the other characters as well. After graduating from high school in 1950, Haas was born in Utin on April 16, 1933, and attended the State University of Music and Theater in Hamburg. There he completed his acting training from 1951 to 1953. Engagement continued in well-known theaters – for example Schocepeelhaus in Hamburg and Commersefeel in Munich. Haas has repeatedly toured theaters, including stage personalities such as Theo Lincoln. From him he learned how to play his bad habits in order to be unique in roles.

Since the early 1980s, Ludwig Haas has been as successful in the national and international film business as he was on stage. Mostly he was committed to bad German roles in movies. Haas played Adolf Hitler alone three times: among others “Like Light in the Dark Knight” and Michael Douglas and the French film “Bedain”. Haas appeared in the 1986 Oscar-winning Dutch film “The Assault”.
Haas recently lived in Newmanster with his wife, Marianne. He died on October 4th. According to media reports, the actor is said to have been buried with his family in the Baltic Sea.
