Polish volleyball players lead Serbia 2-0 in the bronze medal match of the European Championship. The Polish team won the second match of the tournament at Katowice Spotek 25:16, winning the first match 25:22.

In the previous edition of the European Championships, the colors white and red won a medal from this metal, and the Balkan team won the title.

The Poles are fighting for the 10th medal of the European Championship. So far, they have been at the lowest level of the stage – except for the previous version – in 1967 and 2011.

Both the Poles and the Serbs were the favorites for Saturday’s semifinals, but they had to recognize the superiority of their rivals. The Polish team lost 1: 3 to the Slovenes, 30:32 in the second set and 35:37 in the fourth. The Serbs, in turn, were the target event this season during their absence from the Olympics at the Tokyo European Championships, where they surrendered to the revived Italy 1: 3 national team.

Led by a coach Vittala Heina Let’s talk about the white and red double disappointment this year. The world champions were eliminated in the quarterfinals in the Japanese capital, one of the main options of the game.

At 20:30, the Italians will play its coach Ferdinando de Giorgi – former Polish coach – against the Slovenes.

The Italians have been champions of the continent six times, but they have been waiting for a seventh title since 2005. Previously, they were in the final eight years ago. The Slovenes will play a decisive match for the third time, both of which have so far (2015, 2019) failed.
