Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture are some of the actors who have already confirmed their return for their roles in the fourth film in the “Expendables” saga (including “The Expendables”), which has just been confirmed by Lionsgate and Millennium Media producers.
New names joining the saga include 50 Cent, Megan Fox (who has most recently acted in action films such as “Rogue – Savage” or “Midnight in Switchgrass”) and Tony Jaa, the Thai actor who caught the eye with the “Ong-Pak” series.
The first three films in the saga were directed, respectively, by Sylvester Stallone, Simon West and Patrick Hughes. The new title will be signed by Scott Waugh, who has already made action tapes such as “Men of Courage” and “Need for Speed: The Movie.” The script, which will not hold Stallone’s hand for the first time, was written by Spencer Cohen, with revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
The first three films were a tribute to the muscle-action bars of the ’80s, and featured many of the successful stars of the ’80s, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, or Jet Li, and production begins in October. But the launch date has not been announced.
