Portugal defeated Japan 3-2, in a preparatory match for the World Cup, which was held on Wednesday evening, in Pavelhao Poledesportivo in Rio Mayor.
The national team had several occasions to open the scoring in the first half, but the truth is that the first half prevailed. About five minutes later, Fábio Cecílio, after a delicious detail and a table with Afonso Jesus, ties the row.
The Japanese will return to the lead in the score, with Benfica’s Raphael Henmi taking a shot. However, in the last ten minutes, Portugal managed to reverse the scenario and confirm their supremacy. Zeke T and Bruno Coelho made a footbait and completed the final 3-2.
The commandos led by Jorge Braz will return to action next Friday (7 pm), in a new preparatory meeting, this time against Venezuela, as well as in Rio Mayor.
It is worth noting that Portugal enters the third group of the World Cup in Lithuania – which will take place between 12 September and 3 October, and includes Thailand, Solomon Islands and Morocco. The first two from each group qualify for the Round of 16.
