23 years of the Health Technicians Observatory: Website launched on 11/27

On Monday, November 27, Escola Politécnica de Saúde Joaquim Venâncio (EPSJV/Fiocruz) will hold a seminar to launch the new website of the Observatory of Health Technicians (OTS). The event, which marks the 23rd anniversary of OTS, will take place in the Escola Politécnica hall, starting at 9 a.m., and will be broadcast live on EPSJV YouTube channel.

During the opening table, the new OTS website and a commemorative video will be displayed.

The challenges and political agenda of the education and work of technicians in SUS will be discussed, as well as the presentation of OTS data on the training and work of health technicians in Brazil and the results of the research Work challenges in primary health care from the workers’ perspective.

OTS was created in 2000 by the École Polytechnique. It is made up of a team from the Laboratory for Health Professional Education and Work (Lateps) and is part of the Observa RH (ObservaRH) network, established by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The new Observatory website is the result of two years of work by the team of researchers, and was produced with the support of resources from the Parliamentary Amendment in 2022.

At this time when educational and health work is being re-evaluated on the political agenda of the Ministry of Health, EPSJV/Fiocruz strengthens its readiness to work in a network, through the Observatory and its various research and educational bodies and collaborations, with the aim of strengthening the overall work in training and managing the work of technicians in the health sector.
