Samsung Galaxy Watch launched in 2018 received a new software update, on Thursday (15), five years after its launch. The new firmware aims to improve the quality of the watch’s sensors, thus increasing accuracy in tracking physical activities, and thus obtaining user health data, at least that’s what the report indicates. Change Found by the site SamMobile.

The download has been compiled under R810XXU1GWE2 firmware and is only 34.4MB in size. However, the site warns that the update will only be available in Switzerland and in some “other European countries” at this first moment. There is no way to know when this update will roll out to the rest of the world, however, it is believed that it could be released “in the coming weeks”.

Due to the small download size, it is possible to note that the software of the first Galaxy Watch will receive a very specific update, without any new applications or visible changes. The smartwatch left the factory with Samsung’s Tizen 4 system installed, but has received updates up to version 5.5.

To see if your device is able to download the new feature, open the Galaxy Wearable app on the phone paired with the watch, tap the “Software Update” option, then select “Download and Install.” Now, just follow the onscreen instructions.

The Galaxy Watch 6 is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2023 with a larger screen than the Galaxy Watch 5, without increasing the size of the box, according to rumors that circulated in early April. In this case, the size of the new screen will be 1.47 inches, compared to 1.40 of the previous model.
