13-year-old found alive in Denmark – man arrested
13-year-old Philippa was found alive. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in the case.
This was stated by the Danish police in a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
Police Inspector Kim Cleaver said that many arrests were made, but did not say how many, who they were, or on what basis they were arrested.
On Sunday, the police conducted a full investigation and searched for the girl with great force. There have also been loads of tips and video pics on this.
– All this means that today we were able to enter an address where we found Philippa alive, and we also arrested a 32-year-old man, Deputy Inspector of Police Ron D. Nelson says at the press conference.
The man was arrested shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday.
– We have a picture of what happened, but we have to keep this picture to ourselves, says Police Inspector Cleaver.
Philippa has been missing from southern New Zealand since Saturday. She didn’t come home after riding a newspaper tour.
On Sunday, the police cordoned off and searched a property. They will not confirm if it is the same property where Filippa was found.
– Even experienced detectives have expressed the belief that this is a huge gift. It was a result we’re all very happy with, Cleaver says.
The police would like to thank everyone who sent tips and shared information with the police.
– We have already received about 600 calls in the last 24 hours. It shows that we all want to make a difference.
Police said earlier Sunday that they suspected a criminal act had caused the disappearance.
The press conference, which was supposed to start at three o’clock in the evening, was postponed for a quarter of an hour. It must be due to a twist in the disappearance case.
