Pedro Emanuel, the coach who worked with the Almeria striker, said in an interview on the new Men’s Show “Linha de Golo”.

Pedro Emanuel is the guest of another show “Linha de Golo” from New Men. In an interview with journalist Rui Miguel Mendonca, the Portuguese coach spoke about Darwin Nunez’s first season at Benfica, admitting that he expected more from the Uruguayan striker. It is worth noting that the coach worked with Darwin in Almeria, he even gave his signature to be certified by the Spanish club.

“It has a lot [para dar]. She has huge potential and that’s why she was a little less than I expected as a coach. Of course, the short time we worked together and the endorsement I gave in that time to hiring her was a bit of that perspective. [Jorge] Jesus got it when he took it from Almeria,” he began by saying about the 22-year-old striker, then explained.

“He is still young, he is very demanding with himself and I think that, while he is positive, at other times he is discouraging. And he has a peculiarity that I really like. Not only being a young man, but being a footballer on the team, who sacrifices and works for the team. He’s selfish when he has to be. He can give more and I think Jesus, more than anyone else, has the power to snatch more players with Darwin’s qualities,” he said, to conclude later.

“I hope for more in this second season, I think Benfica also needs him more up front and I think that’s what will happen, because he’s a natural worker and the quality is there, you just need to be able to put him to work from the team in the best way and at the best of times.”
