Black Stars beat Bunyodkor 2-0 in pre-AFCON 2017 friendly

The Black Stars beat Uzbekistani club side Bunyodkor 2-0 in a pre-AFCON 2017 friendly match played in Al-Ain on Tuesday.

The match was part of the team’s preparations for the tournament which starts on January 14 in Gabon.

Coach Avram Grant has been working with the team from January 2 and he chose a good starting eleven but he had Captain Asamoah Gyan, Baba Rahman and Franck Acheampong on the bench.

He gave a start to new boy Bernard Tekpertey in the attack.

Ghana starting eleven vs. Bunyodkor: 

Fatau Dauda; Harrison Afful, John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Mubarak Wakaso, Christian Atsu, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Bernard Tekpertey, Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew.

In the 67th minute, Asamoah Gyan scored the first goal of the game and eight minutes later, Frank Acheampong doubled the lead.

The Black Stars will fly out to Gabon on January 13 for the AFCON.

They face Uganda in the group opener on January 17, play against Mali on January 21 and against Egypt on January 25
